Cancer Causing Glyphosate Is in the Meat We Eat

There is virtually nowhere to turn to escape ingesting the Monsanto cancer-causing poison, glyphosate

Monday, July 10, 2017 - Glyphosate, the deadly herbicide and main ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup Ready can be found in almost every food that we eat from unwashed vegetables to the flesh of the meats like pork, chicken, and beef. Now that Roundup Ready's glyphosate has been included on California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) list of chemicals that cause cancer, as well as previously in the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer recently conclusion that glyphosate is "probably carcinogenic to humans," people are becoming concerned that their health is at risk from eating everyday foods. Such health concerns are triggered for many reasons including the potential for concentrations of glyphosate in the meat we eat, because of the glyphosate-contaminated feed farmers give to their livestock. Pigs, chickens, and cows are given a lifetime diet of GMO crops that are sprayed season after season with glyphosate. It is only logical that glyphosate will accumulate in the tissues of these animals and humans, being on top of the food chain, will, in turn, ingest enormous amounts of the deadly carcinogenic. To make matters worse, the Environmental Protection Agency requirements on the permissible limits of the amount of glyphosate is much less on animal feed crops. The permissible limit on crops for human consumption is .20 parts per million, while the limit on animal feed crops can be as high as 400 parts per million, more than 2000 times as high! Add to that the bioaccumulation of a lifetime of animals eating these crops and the amount of glyphosate that we could be eating in our meats is unacceptably high.

Eating animal flesh contaminated with large concentrations of glyphosate could be a major reason for the increase in cancers in recent decades. Other ways in which humans are now ingesting more glyphosate than ever is because usage of the chemical by farmers in the US since 1974 has increased over 100-fold, glyphosate contamination of our drinking water from run off from farms and other applications, and soil contamination with glyphosate bioaccumulation. In addition, farmers using glyphosate must increase the amount that they spray on their crops every year as weed continually develop a resistance to the herbicide.

Now scientists are sure that Monsanto's Roundup Ready causes cancer in humans. The consumer health watchdog website www.naturalnews.com reports that independent researchers in Egypt and Germany reported in the Journal of Environmental & Analytical Toxicology that much higher than expected levels of glyphosate were found in animals that were fed GM animal feed. The tests measured glyphosate levels from samples of urine and milk from dairy cows and compared those given GMO feed and those animals that were not. The study also stated that, "high concentrations of glyphosate and its metabolites were also found in the cows' intestines, livers, muscles, spleens, and kidneys, demonstrating how the chemical progressively accumulates throughout the body," and that it is likely that glyphosate is accumulating in human tissues at unacceptably high, cancer-causing levels.
